Join the ABQ BioPark for two days of special tours in the Japanese Garden during Hana Matsuri, the Festival of Flowers. Learn more about the history and design of the Japanese Garden, and enjoy the blossoms of four varieties of cherry trees and many other flowering plants in the garden from 10 a.m.-1p.m.
Three seperate tours will begin at 10 a.m., 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. and will meet near the Japanese Garden entrance.
Hana Matsuri is customarily held in celebration of the birth of the Bhudda. People gather in japanese temples to observe the spring blossoms, and monks decorate small statues of the Bhudda with flowers and bathe it in special infused water to give blessings.
