Campers entering 4th-6th grade can get creative and learn fun science in these camps:

Animal Art

Think BIG! In this half-day class, we will work together to create a large menagerie of animal sculptures.

  • Grades: 4-6
  • Cost: $125
  • Where: Zoo
  • When: Monday - Friday, 12:30 p.m. - 4 p.m. afternoon session)
    • June 16-20
    • July 7-11

We’ll study animals in the Zoo and then head to our “studio” to put our creativity and imagination into action. Will we create a giraffe, an elephant, or a mob of kangaroos?  You decide as we transform large boxes, egg crates, plastic lids, newspaper, paper towel rolls and other things you would usually recycle into a herd of artistic animals.

Eco-Artists

The outrageous colors of oceans and gardens have always inspired great art. During this half-day camp, you can be an eco-artist, too!

  • Grades: 4-6
  • Cost: $125
  • Where: Aquarium and Botanic Garden
  • When: Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. - noon (morning session)
    • June 9-13 or 23-27

You’ll sculpt, paint and build your own masterpieces inspired by the animals and plants you meet at the Aquarium and Botanic Garden. You might create a rainbow-colored reef, add shine to a silvery minnow mural, watercolor in the Japanese Garden, or construct giant insects. Learn from a real artist while you study the science behind nature’s most beautiful creatures.
