Description

Hanami is the traditional Japanese custom of viewing cherry or plum blossoms. It is a time of reflecting on the transitory nature of life and celebrating beauty with family and friends. Join us on a tour of the Japanese garden and enjoy the blossoms of the five varieties of flowering cherry trees and many other spring flowering plants. On the weekends, there will also be the opportunity to make origami tulips and view ikebana.

Special Hanami Tours

  • Special Hanami tours are at 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. 
  • Tours will meet at 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. near the entrance to the Japanese Garden Exhibit.

Weekend Events

  • On March 30-31 (10 a.m.-2 p.m.) there will also be origami-making stations and an ikebana display in atrium
  • On April 6 and 7 (10 a.m.-2 p.m.) there will be origami-making stations.
