Description
The ABQ BioPark is giving people an opportunity to enjoy a delicious paleo lunch while learning about the health benefits of a low-carb diet.
Dr. Mark H. Raterink, a board certified integrative medicine physician, will speak during the catered lunch event "Eat Like a Wild Animal," which takes place from noon-1:30 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 5, at the ABQ BioPark Botanic Garden Rose Garden Atrium.
"If you've heard about the paleo diet and want to give it a try, here's your chance," said Catherine Hubbard, ABQ BioPark Botanic Garden Manager. "We'll offer fresh, local produce from the Botanic Garden's Heritage Farm and a variety of meats, sides and delicious desserts."
Dr. Raterink will talk about why a natural diet of whole, unprocessed foods including meats, fruits, vegetables, nuts and fats can help you lose weight, restore brain power and feel the best you can.
Dr. Raterink founded Expanding Choices, Inc., an integrative medicine clinic in Albuquerque. He is trained in numerous areas including cardiovascular health, functional medicine and herbal medicine, neurotransmitter and IV therapy and homeopathy.
