How to Taste and Pair Wine 

Just in time for the holiday season, come discover the basics of wine assessment with Gill Giese, PhD, New Mexico State University Extension viticulture specialist. You will learn how to recognize acidity, sugar and tannin levels, and the role each plays in tasting. You'll also learn what attributes, aromas and flavors to expect from well-known varietal wines. Lastly, you'll learn how to recognize major wine faults and how to make a simple, but enjoyable wine and food pairing. This event is part of the Botanic Garden Workshop Series, which takes place on the fourth Saturday of each month. Discover the wonder of our natural world through workshops that will engage your senses and connect you to your local environment. The workshops cover a range of topics, art, plants, insects and gardening techniques for participants of all levels of knowledge and interests. Workshops are two hours long and are taught by local experts and enthusiasts.
