Description

What does the future hold for the Rio Grande?

Speaker: Leonard Malczynski, Principle Member of Technical Staff, Earth Systems Analysis at Sandia National Laboratories

Are you curious about the future of the Rio Grande? Join guest speaker Leonard Malczynski from Sandia National Labs to gain a new understanding of the river.

To aid in the creation of a 50 year water plan for the Rio Grande, scientists at Sandia National Laboratories created a modeling system to test the complexities of planning for water supply in the river.

After three years, a team developed a model to evaluate the behavior of the entire Rio Grande system. Learn what river hydrology and ecology, agriculture, urban development, economics and environmental factors can tell us about the future of the Rio Grande.

Can't make it on Saturday? Join us for the same talk on Thursday, Nov. 7.
