In addition to our permanent exhibition, which tells the story of over two centuries of ballooning history, don't miss these special exhibitions:

Arctic Air: The Bold Flight of S.A. Andrée -- When the 1897 flight of S.A. Andrée began, no one had yet reached the North Pole. There had been other attempts, all unsuccessful, but this expedition intended to fly there by balloon from Danes Island, an icy outpost at nearly the top of the world. This exhibition chronicles the history, technology, and people involved in this unprecedented adventure.

The Weather Lab -- Inside The Weather Lab, museum visitors will encounter the sun, wind, clouds, precipitation and  storms. Along the way, they will learn about the inextricable relationship between weather and humanity, and efforts through technology to better understand and forecast weather conditions.

First Air Voyages in America -- In 1793, the first air voyage in the United States took place. To honor the upcoming 225th anniversary of this historic event, the Balloon Museum will present an exhibition about that flight and many noteworthy aerial "firsts" that followed in America, from other ballooning achievements to breaking the sound barrier.

International Ballooning Hall of Fame -- The Hall of Fame recognizes those who have made significant ballooning achievements, including those who have excelled in business, history, design and engineering, in addition to those better known for their contributions in flying balloons or airships of any category, in competition or setting records.
