Science In The Sky - Let it Flow: The Power of Porosity
All presentations start at 10 a.m. followed by an 11 a.m. tour.
Fabric, soil, rocks, skin, paper, plastics all have various levels of porosity. The ability to flow through or not, a little or a lot allows us to harness invisible forces of air, heat and light. We may not use the word ‘porosity' everyday, but every day we experience the phenomenon. A hot air balloon with high porosity will fly and a balloon with low porosity will not.
Presented by the Balloon Museum.
Suggested for grades 3 to 5.
