High Desert Pipes & Drums, was founded in 1993, and won the 1999 Royal Scottish Pipe Band Association Grade 4B World Championship in Glasgow, Scotland!  HDP&D is still the only Grade 4B Band from the USA to win a World Championship!  They are proudly celebrating their 23nd anniversary of wearing the Wallace Tartan, and are a piping and drumming teaching organization, offering free lessons in the Albuquerque, Rio Rancho, and East Mountain communities.

Funds raised are re-invested into High Desert Pipes & Drums to be able to implement events like NM ShamRock Fest and meet their mission:  To foster and promote Scottish and Celtic culture and music by teaching the Great Highland Bagpipes and Drums, performing and competing across the Western United States, and representing the State of New Mexico, Clan Wallace Society Worldwide, and the USA at the World Pipe Band Championships in Scotland.
