Ballooning for All! Ballooning Accessibility Rally
Balloon Rally for people of all abilities and special needs. Six hot air balloons will inflate and offer tethered rides. Hot-air balloons with accessible baskets on site. Visit with the “rolling pilot” (www.rollingpilot) the world’s only paraplegic hot air balloon pilot, Michael Glen. Other accessible balloons include, Dreamcatcher (www.dreamcatcherballoon.org) and Fly the Rainbow. Followed by live entertainment and activities. Celebrate World Down Syndrome Day (March 21) at the festival and bring a baby blanket to donate to new baby baskets.
The Balloon Museum partners this year with NM’s Department of Health- DDSD to offer a two day art retreat for citizens with disabilities (March 17 & 18), culminating in the Shining Star Art Exhibit, available to view at the Balloon Museum during the balloon rally March 19.
