See Ballooning in a Whole New Way at the Balloon Museum

The Balloon Museum is open daily during Balloon Fiesta, 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Experience amazing views of Fiesta while visiting the museum. Enjoy tours, our 4-D Theater, the Second Wind Lounge, our dog-friendly grounds, educational activities, and much more! Here are the details:

Second Wind Lounge

Enjoy delicious menu items daily from some of Albuquerque's best food trucks: Cheesy Street, Conchita's Creations, My Sweet Basil, Nomad's BBQ, and Street Food Institute. Tractor Brewery serves beer each day (except Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday) from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. The Second Wind Lounge is located on our East Lawn.

Dog Friendly Zone

Our four legged friends can now enjoy the beautiful lawn of the Balloon Museum. The pet friendly zone will offer simple amenities so that you and your canine companion can have an enjoyable experience in a safe and welcoming environment.

Special Exhibitions, Displays, and Installations

International Ballooning Hall of Fame: See featured images and artifacts of the International Ballooning Commission Hall of Fame’s 2016 inductees: Albuquerque's own Troy Bradley and Isaburo Yamada of Japan.

America’s Challenge: An exhibition focused on the prestigious America's Challenge Gas Balloon Competition, which marked its 20th anniversary in 2015.

A Ballooning Adventure with Buddy Bombard: For over 30 years, Buddy Bombard led dream vacations across Europe by hot air balloon! Buddy was also an innovator in improving safety and passenger comforts. This display highlights his uniquely designed balloons, on-board food service, and the spirit of joy his trips inspired.

The Box Interactive Preview: Create and launch your own balloon into the famous "Albuquerque Box." This interactive will appear in the upcoming Weather Lab exhibition, but you can try it out now!

Find JOY and FLY: These special social media sculptures, each over six feet tall, invite visitors to form the "Y" in each word, have their photos taken, then share these souvenir images through their social media. #FindingJoy @BalloonMuseum and #YouFly @BalloonMuseum

Tim Anderson 4-D Theater: Grab your 3-D glasses and hold onto your vibrating seat! The Tim Anderson 4-D Theater will showcase on-going screenings of the award-winning video "Aerobatic Challenge," a spectacular animated flight experience.

A Virtual Reality Adventure: Virtual Reality experiences presented by the ARVUS Roadshow and sponsored by the Albuquerque Film Office. Content includes aviation, aerospace, science, nature, and exploration experiences.

Balloon Explorium: Hands-on balloon education for all ages, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Radio Controlled Hot Air Balloon Demonstrations: View flights of our radio-controlled hot air balloons, including our newest, made possible by Sandia Peak Tramway. The balloon stands two stories tall! Sessions held at 9:30 a.m. and 11 a.m., weather permitting.

Family Arts Studio: Balloon inspired art projects for all ages. Drop in 9 a.m. to Noon.
