Description

The Albuquerque Concert Band is an all-volunteer ensemble of adult musicians rehearsing and performing throughout the year. In existence for over forty years, the band has been enriching the culture of the Albuquerque community in performance of the great heritage of band music.

The Albuquerque Concert Band heads back to the east lawn of the Balloon Museum this summer for a series of five evening concerts that feature themes popular with the crowds.

Under the direction of John Sanks, the concert will open with “Alpina Fanfare” by Franco Cesarini, followed by “Morning, Noon, and Night in Vienna” by Franz von Suppe; “On a Hymnsong of Lowell Mason” by David Holsinger; “Riders for the Flag” by John Philip Sousa; “Blue Moon” featuring Luis Delgado on tenor sax; James Curnow “Wgere Never Lark or Eagle Flew”; “Holiday for Winds” by Glenn Osser; “Mr. Dixieland Fronts the Band” featuring members of the band in a Dixieland combo; Leroy Andersons “Fiddle-Faddle”, and close with J. F. Wagners “Under the Double Eagle March”.

Attendees are invited to bring lawn chairs, blankets and picnics.  There will be a different Food Truck vendor on site each week so that attendees may purchase food and beverages while enjoying the concert.

This weeks featured vendors are JP's Custard Cart and Green Growler Smoothies.

The Balloon Museum will offer extended hours and free admission from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. each Wednesday the Concert Band performs.
