Altitude Sickness: 3rd Thursday at Albuquerque Museum

3rd Thursday at Albuquerque Museum features a performance of British playwright Stephen Lowe’s "Altitude Sickness." This presents the story of D.H. Lawrence’s relationships with his wife, Frieda; the English aristocrat, artist and unrequited lover, Dorothy Brett; and the passionate American prima donna of the arts, Mabel Dodge Luhan.

Description

January's 3rd Thursday focuses on the exhibitions The Carved Line: Block Printing in New Mexico and Mabel Dodge Luhan & Company: American Moderns & the West.  Santa Fe print makers Scott Parker and Thayer Carter will demonstrate the art of block printing from 5-7 p.m.  Visitors will also have the opportunity to make their own print.

At 7 p.m., FUSION Theatre will present a staged reading of ALTITUDE SICKNESS.

A reading of British playwright Stephen Lowe’s story of D.H. Lawrence’s relationships with his wife, Frieda; the English aristocrat, artist and unrequited lover, Dorothy Brett; and the passionate American prima donna of the arts, Mabel Dodge Luhan. 

Free tickets for ALTITUDE SICKNESS will be passed out starting at 5 p.m. on January 19 on a first come, first serve basis at the doors to the Ventana Salon.  There will be overflow seating in the Museum Lobby for those who do not receive tickets for the Ventana Salon.

There will be an encore performance of ALTITUDE SICKNESS on Sunday, January 22, 2 p.m
