Art in the Afternoon: Brother Coyote
On a US tour last summer with Sympathy and the Lion, Michael passed through New Mexico and was so taken by its beauty that he decided to relocate here from the Philadelphia area. He is currently living on a horse ranch in Coyote, NM, working on a new album, and playing solo as Brother Coyote.
Michael's first EP Remnants was released in 2015. His song "Leaps of Love" garnered the attention of Philadelphia's NPR station WXPN and received airplay. Helen Leicht of that station says his music "has the vibe of Damien Rice, Hozier, and Sting. I'd say that's a very good place to be."
"His music is pensive and understated... It also incorporates a dramatic interest in transcendental storytelling.... Music lovers will find similarities with Damien Rice, Iron & Wine, and Nick Drake. The passion in Michael's voice evokes a sense of freedom." - Fig Magazine
