The Albuquerque Museum and The National Steinbeck Center partner to celebrate the 75th Anniversary of "The Grapes of Wrath"
The Albuquerque Museum is partnering with the National Steinbeck Center as they retrace the journey that The Grapes of Wrath’s Joad family took along America’s Route 66 toward California and their hopes of a better life.
This trip will be led by a team of artists who will be actively engaged in exploring modern day stories of the human experience of struggle and resilience. Events at the Albuquerque Museum will include:
- Performance of traditional New Mexican folk music by renowned folk music historian Cipriano Vigil and La Familia Vigil
- Drop-in printmaking activity with literary/community historian and visual artist Patricia Wakid, who is traveling with the National Steinbeck Center
- The Penguin Book Truck will be in front of the Museum selling Steinbeck titles
