Celebrating National Poetry Month at Albuquerque Museum

After work, swing by Albuquerque Museum for music, fun programs, art making for all ages, and a cash bar and small plates at our cafe, Slate at the Museum. General admission for the event is free. Family friendly.

In April, as part of National Poetry Month, Albuquerque Poet Laureate Michelle Otero performs original works in the Museum exhibitions. Otero is a writer, facilitator, and coach who utilizes creative expression and storytelling as the basis for organizational development and positive social change. She is the author of "Malinche’s Daughter," an essay collection based on her work with women survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault in Oaxaca, Mexico as a Fulbright Fellow. Originally from Deming, New Mexico, Michelle holds a B.A. in History from Harvard University and an MFA in Creative Writing from Vermont College.
