The 2nd Annual Albuquerque Gospel Music Festival will celebrate the social and historical significance of gospel music with a southwest flair. The city is in partnership with many of the churches in the surrounding community to produce and present the Gospel Music Festival.
The City of Albuquerque is proud to host this great event.

Headlining this year's Gospel Music Fest is Kurt Carr and the Kurt Carr Singers
.
Kurt Carr is a singer, songwriter, producer and musician. A multiple Stellar and Dove award winner, Kurt has been responsible for some of the most well-known Gospel songs, including "The Presence of the Lord", "In the Sanctuary", "For Every Mountain" and "God Blocked It". He has excellent crossover appeal and music recognition.

The purpose of the Gospel Music Festival is designed to advance the appreciation of gospel music and its message in Albuquerque and vicinity. This includes planning, infrastructure, implementation and provision of training for said purposes. The event endeavors to enhance and advance gospel music in New Mexico providing an agency whose sole existence is based on its growth and appreciation.
An annual gospel music festival and on-going workshop training are designed to accomplish the following:
§ Foster unity and inspire people to have hope through uplifting music.
§ Celebrate the social historical and significance of gospel music.
§ Provide a venue that spans across and fosters cooperation within the civic, religious, cultural, and business communities.
§ Positively impact Albuquerque and vicinity by providing a family-friendly environment food, fun, and fellowship.
§ Promote productive citizenship through presentation of life enrichment opportunities for New Mexico residents.
§ Target at-risk youth and young adult populations.
§ Demonstrate the viability of public/private collaborations and partnerships.
Attendance to Gospel Music Festival events is open to everyone regardless of religious preference, racial or ethnic background, or preference of any kind.
