June 2nd Council Meeting Cancelled

Due to security concerns for the general public and staff, this evening's City Council meeting is cancelled and will be rescheduled for 5 p.m. on Monday, June 9.

Albuquerque, NM – Due to the protests in the Mayor’s Office that have required the City/County Building to be locked down for the evening, the Albuquerque City Council meeting scheduled for 5:00 pm has been cancelled. The meeting was cancelled by Council President Sanchez out of concerns for the safety of both the general public and staff, and in order to comply with the State Open Meetings Act which requires that all persons desiring shall be permitted to listen to the deliberations and proceedings.


The Special Meeting will be held at 5:00 pm on the evening of Monday, June 9, 2014 in the Vincent E. Griego Council Chambers. All items that appeared on this evening’s agenda will be on the agenda for the June 9, 2014 Special Meeting. As Monday’s meeting will be a special Council meeting, under City Council rules no general public comment will be taken.
