Councilor's Corner September 2015 Edition

School is back in session and autumn is on its way!

We had many successful events this summer like the Summerfest, National Night Out, and Picnic with the Mayor. The successes of the events are a direct indicator of the support and energy of our communities. It is great to see the active neighborhoods we have in District 4.

Let's take care of those weeds!

We have also had a summer full of rain. Although we are very thankful for the moisture, it has also allowed those pesky weeds to grow even quicker than usual. Don’t forget to keep our neighborhoods looking nice by maintaining the weeds not just in our own yards, but also on the sidewalks around your yard. If weeds in your neighborhood are getting out of control, I encourage you to call 311 and report them to the City. Code enforcement will come out and take a look and give reminders if needed.

Community Policing Council

My office was able to attend the last Community Policing Council for the NE Area in August and saw first-hand what a positive impact community policing can have on our neighborhoods. I encourage everyone to attend the next one in your area. You can find more information on the Northeast or Valley CPC here
