City Councilor Isaac Benton - UNM / CNM Transportation Study
The Mid-Region Council of Governments invites you to the first public meeting for the Travel Demand Management Study of the University of New Mexico and Central New Mexico Community College.
In their efforts to continue to meet the educational needs of New Mexico’s growing and changing population, UNM and CNM anticipate possible increases in the number of students and employees on their main campuses in central Albuquerque. The purpose of this study is to identify collective actions that can be implemented to manage travel demand associated with this part of the region. The first phase of the study will include a detailed evaluation of existing and year 2015 campus travel markets and associated issues and opportunities. This information will then be utilized to identify the best potential solutions for effectively managing travel demand to and from this area. These solutions will be analyzed in more detail in the second phase of the study.
This initial meeting will focus on the types of information and analysis that will be conducted as part of the first phase and how this effort will provide all stakeholders with a better understanding of the major factors influencing travel to and from this area.
This project is jointly funded by City of Albuquerque, UNM, CNM, Bernalillo County, and the MRCOG.
