$300,000 for Traffic Improvements around the NW Education Corridor

Councilor Michael Cadigan to introduce bill for immediate action appropriating $300,000 for traffic improvements around the NW Education Corridor. APS Schools have been in session for only a week and already several accidents have occurred involving students and rush hour commuters near the NW Education Corridor.

City Councilor Michael Cadigan has been in constant communications with APS officials, including Chief Operations Officer Brad Winter and APS Board member Robert Lucero to implement solutions to the traffic problems stemming the from the increase traffic at all three schools.

Cadigan will introduce for immediate action at the next Council meeting a bill that appropriates $300,000 to traffic improvements near Volcano Vista High School on both Universe and Rainbow Boulevards.

“The magnitude of traffic generated by the three schools combined with the limited infrastructure and young inexperienced drivers have lead to multiple car accidents. We need to focus on traffic infrastructure improvements now before the situation becomes tragic,” said Michael Cadigan.
