Councilors Urge Administration to Secure First Baptist Site

City Councilors Isaac Benton, Debbie O’Malley, and Ken Sanchez will introduce a Resolution for immediate action at Monday night’s council meeting that calls on the administration to enter into an agreement with APS to secure the First Baptist Church site for future economic development in Downtown and adjacent neighborhoods.

The Councilors will call on the Administration to work with APS toward a cooperative agreement to secure the site to ensure that the property remains available to the City as a catalyst for the redevelopment of Downtown and the promotion of our convention and tourism industry.

The Councilors believe that the redevelopment the First Baptist site will benefit not only Albuquerque, but also the entire region.
