- Unanimous Vote for New Council President Debbie O'Malley
- On Monday, December 4, 2006 Debbie O'Malley, who represents District 2, was unanimously elected the next Council President. She will hold the office for a one-year term and succeeds Martin Heinrich.
- Block of Blight No Longer
- A block of dilapidated housing that has been boarded-up for years is slated for removal by City crews. Jessie and Fred Sais, long-time active members of the Wells Park Neighborhood Association, were instrumental in pushing for removal of these nuisance properties.
