The Consumer Financial Protection Initiative was launched in 2019.
The goals of the CFPI are to:
- Help you protect yourself from unfair and deceptive business practices
- Share information so that you can “know your rights” and can make informed choices
- Expand city services to help consumers who have been harmed by an unfair or deceptive business transaction
- Enact city regulations to strengthen protections for consumers
- Take action against businesses that violate the law and take advantage of consumers
- Learn how to avoid scams and take action if you have lost money or personal information
