Albuquerque Mayor Martin J. Chávez has been named to the top ten Mayors of North America, which is selected annually by the World Mayor project. The annual project seeks out mayors who have vision, passion and skills to make their cities amazing places to live in, work and visit.

Mayor Martin Chávez said he was honored and humbled by the nomination. “While I am extremely thankful for the nomination, the honor belongs to Albuquerque alone. I’m so proud of what Albuquerque has accomplished.”

Citizens will be invited to choose the city leader they believe to be worthy of the title of World Mayor 2008. Individuals can vote here.
