The endangered Mexican gray wolf has a limited range in isolated pockets of northern Mexico. Since the 1990s, there have been reintroduction efforts of the Mexican gray wolf in the American Southwest.Also known as the Lobo, the Mexican gray wolf's natural diet consists of small game, deer, and elk. Their lifespan varies from 10 to 14 years.
Mexican gray wolves, a subspecies of the gray wolf, were wiped out in New Mexico in the 1920s.
Highly social and intelligent, wolves live in structured packs. They hunt and rear their young cooperatively.
