Onsite Programs

Aquarium Information and Activity Packet for School Groups
Full of information and interactive activities, these packets can be downloaded for on-site use. They are available for pre-K, 2-5 and 6 –12th grade students. Go to Teacher Resources to select and download a packet.


Guided Tours
A prearranged tour guided by a volunteer may be available. Call at least six weeks in advance to schedule.

Touchpool Visit - Year-round
The Touchpool, an interactive exhibit with live marine invertebrates, is available to classes if scheduled at least six weeks in advance. Pre-visit materials are available for elementary students.

Aquarium Discovery Stations- Year-round
Discovery Stations use biofacts or education animals to engage visitors in hands-on learning. If you would like to schedule a particular activity for your class visit, call at least six weeks in advance.


Brown Bags - Year-round
These informative lunchtime seminars by conservation experts in the field are offered at the zoo, aquarium and botanic garden. Thursday and Saturday at the beginning of each month. Check the calendar for details.

Conservation Arts Festival
- April
This weeklong celebration during Earth Week in April teaches conservation science through the arts. Special treats include performing arts workshops, a film festival, art shows, plays, dance, and music. Click here for the current schedule.

Summer EdFUN - Summer
Series of daily summer activities designed for family participation at aquarium.

Captain Lucky - Summer
Captain Lucky tells his salty tales of the sea on the aquarium’s shrimp boat during the summer.

Holiday Nature Crafts
- November and December
Create gifts inspired by nature. Select Wednesday evening during December’s River of Lights.
