Visit special Discovery Stations around the zoo to learn about the amazing ways that animals attract a mate. Find out how the zoo acts as a “dating service” for endangered animals, such as gorillas, elephants and wolves, as part of the Species Survival Program. At the Aquarium visit Discovery Stations to find out how male seahorses get pregnant, look for courtship in the coral reef and learn why some fish change gender! Call (505) 848-7180 for more information about Aquarium activities.
Valentine's Day activities are included with regular admission.
Sleep next to the sharks at this family-friendly event. Participants will learn interesting facts about ocean species and their nighttime behavior during this special Aquarium sleepover. Includes games and crafts, Touchpool visit and ocean film fest in the theater. Children under age 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

Join us at the Heritage Farm to celebrate the connections between plants, animals and people! Learn how plants are used to make natural dyes and dye a piece of wool to take home. Learn about Navajo Churro sheep and the process used to turn their wool into a warm sweater!

Touchpool volunteers assist with the hands-on invertebrate Touchpool at the aquarium and introduce visitors to horseshoe crabs, horse conchs, sea urchins and other fascinating marine animals. For more information, please call (505) 764-6245.
Children, ages 4-12, are invited to join us for this fun and free event, which will feature discovery stations about fish and other New Mexico wildlife. Children can learn about fishing with NM Game and Fish, casting and fly tying with NM Trout, waterfowl and benthic macroinvertebrates (bugs!) with BioPark Education, "Leave No Trace" ethics with REI and more. Participants will even have the chance to meet some wildlife up close!
