Albuquerque: A Great Bike City

With sunny skies, unique cultures and fantastic scenery, Albuquerque is a great place to bike for transportation and for fun.

City planners are working to improve bike paths and trails throughout Albuquerque, making bicycling a more attractive mode of transportation.

A Bikeway Master Plan Update

To improve bikeways and trails in Albuquerque, the City has put together a master plan. This document highlights the present and future needs and goals of bicycling in Albuquerque.

The Bikeways & Trails Master Plan Update includes details on top bike path priorities for Albuquerque, as well as maps and more important information. This plan consolidates and replaces the On-Street Bikeways Facility Plan and the Trails and Bikeways Facility Plan.

This information is being made available for public review.

Master Plan Goals

This Master Plan contains three goals:

  1. Increase the bicycle commute mode share.
  2. Increase overall bicycle use.
  3. Reduce bicycle related injuries and fatalities.
