Description
Join BioPark Staff to make traditional Japanese New Years displays. These arrangements, called Kadomatsu, are made of bamboo and pine and are said to attract beneficial spirits. They are full of symbolism, representing virtues such as strength, flexibility, vitality and purity.
These Kadomatsu arrangements will be on display at the gates of the Sasebo Japanese Garden Dec. 20 through Jan. 11.
While supplies last, volunteers may also make their own miniature Kadomatsu to take home.
