Dr. Rasmussen has been researching African painted dogs (Lycaon pictus) in the field for more than 22 years. He began his work with Painted Dog Research, later founded Painted Dog Conservation (PDC), and recently expanded his vision by creating the Painted Dog Research Trust. Dr. Rasmussen’s conservation models include not only the ecological but also the socioeconomic issues that impinge on painted dogs, as well as incorporation of youth conservation education, and community participation.
