How to Apply

If you believe you might qualify to participate for the City of Albuquerque Housing Authority Public Housing or Section 8 Rental Housing Assistance Program, you can print the documents listed below or visit us at our office, 1840 University SE, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m., to pick up an application packet.

These packets allow us to collect the necessary information to determine if you are eligible to participate in our programs.

The application packets can be filled out and completed at your convenience and brought to Albuquerque Housing Authority on Wednesdays from 8:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Application Documents

We are now accepting pre-applications for the waiting list for the Public Housing and Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Programs. Pre-applications are accepted in accordance with federal program regulations and AHA policies.

Faxed applications will not be accepted. Do not fax.

Potential applicants should know that since Albuquerque Housing Authority has adopted HUD's national "One Strike-You're Out" policy to assure safe and healthy environments in our communities.

We conduct background checks on all family members 18 years of age and over. Once we have determined you meet our program requirements you will be notified in writing that you have been placed on our waiting list.
