New Mexico Driver’s Licenses Will Be Accepted for Travel After January 15, 2013

The Department of Homeland Security has issued a deferment for implementation of the Real ID Act until the Fall of 2013, when they will publish and implementation schedule.  Until then, New Mexicans can continue to use their current driver’s licenses as an acceptable form of ID to pass through airport security and board a commercial aircraft.
