A reconstruction project of the Sunport’s long-term parking lot begins on January 14, 2013, however, the lot will close beginning December 26, 2012 in order to have the lot emptied by the start of construction.
The reconstruction, which is expected to last approximately five months, will include repaving of the entire lot and the addition of solar panels that will also serve as shade canopies. The scheduled construction time frame is traditionally the slowest for travel, in between the holidays and summer travel season.
Alternate parking, at the same daily rate, will be available in the long-term credit/debit card lot located off Girard, just to the east of the terminal (see attached map). That long-term lot accepts only credit or debit cards and does not have an attendant on duty, but there is a call button at the exit to speak with an attendant who can handle exceptions or problems.
