New Mexico Veterans Memorial
The City of Albuquerque built the New Mexico Veterans’ Memorial (NMVM) to honor those who have served, are serving or will serve. The Memorial is located at 1100 Louisiana S.E. on 25 beautiful acres. The Visitors Center and Museum are located on the site and is staffed by volunteers from many different organizations. The center is currently opened from 9 AM to 3 PM Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday. We are attempting to keep the center opened those hours 7 days a week.
We need volunteers to help staff the center on all Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
Hours for staffing are broken down in to two shifts and two volunteers are needed for each shift.
- The shifts are 9 AM to 12 PM and 12 PM to 3 PM.
The volunteers greet the visitors and introduce them to the museum. Volunteers have a complete set of instructions at the visitors desk and questions and answers available. They can also request training on the volunteer’s duties and responsibilities. This is a great public service opportunity and easy to accomplish.
You can find additional information about the NMVM and Visitor Center at the Websit http://nmvetsmemorial.org/
