Junior Docent- Program begins 8/1.

Become a Junior Docent and dazzle Museum visitors with cool science demonstrations!

What happens when you put a marshmallow into a vacuum pump?
Is it possible to suspend a beach ball in mid air?

We're now accepting applications for our Junior Docent program. Students ages 14-18.

Junior Docents facilitate our Science a la Carte program in which they present science activities/experienments/demonstrations to Museum Visitors.

Students develop skills in leadership and public speaking.


  • Must be a student, age 14-18.
  • Must be willing to serve as a Junior Docent one Saturday or Sunday per month (2 hours per recurring session).
  • Must be interested in Science, outgoing and able to become comfortable speaking in public, take initative, and committ to recurring volunteer work.
  • Parents/Guardians must grant permission, arrange for transportation for the student to/from the Museum, and be able to help their student follow through with their committment.
